Unicorn Horn Dirt Prospect workout.
Arley stepped out onto the track. He pranced down the center excitedly. More than ready for the work ahead I pushed Arley into a nice, long strided, forward going trot. He moved elegantly up the track as I pushed him over to the inner rail. Immediately he moved and stayed in a nice pace. We made our way around the track, Arley staying in a nice flowing trot. His movements were loose and flowing, he looked amazing and at the same time covered distance quickly. As we aproached the one furlong marker I urged him forwards into a nice canter. Straight away he performed a lovely transition from trot to canter. He had an extremely comfortable canter; it was like sitting in an arm chair. He made his way towards the three furlong marker, hugging the rail tightly. We completed one circuit in canter and then had a nice gallop. I asked for gallop and he quickly increased his pace, he was happy to be galloping and settled down nicely into a good pace. After about a furlong of gallop I steadied him to a walk. We made our way over to the starting gates. Today we would focus on our start, more than anything else. I walked Arley into the gates. Without hesitation or resistance he stolled in and waited. He waited egarly figiting slightly but kept calm with his racing head firmly on. I sat patiently waiting for the gates to open. I counted down in my head until the gates opened, 3...2...1! the gates flew open. Arley pushed off his reer end and shot him self out of the gate. He was off to a flying start and settled very quickly onto the inner rail in a steady gallop.
